Willie Adams lives in Indianapolis, Indiana, and is a member of Oasis of Hope Baptist Church. He is a

proud husband and father of three children, Eric, Erica, and Joseph. Willie is a veteran of the United States

Postal Service, retiring on October 30, 2000, and is currently a licensed real estate agent. 

During his 36-year career with the Postal Service, he served as branch manager of several stations and was

voted National Association of Postal Supervisors Branch 8 President. He was responsible for interviewing,

hiring, and training new employees and supervisors. Former employees and coworkers recognize him for his

enthusiasm, perseverance, and innovation. In retirement, Willie enjoys art, ceramics, bowling, and spending

time with family.

 

Shirley Alexander was married to Pastor Frank Alexander, who was the senior Pastor of Oasis of Hope Baptist

Church for 40 years. Mrs. Alexander is presently serving in the part-time position of Multi-Cultural Ministries

Strategist for the American Baptist Churches of Greater Indianapolis.  She is retired from a 40-year career in

education where her focus was research and implementation of strategies to close the academic achievement

gap.

Before this, Shirley worked with families devastated by alcoholism, incest, drug addiction, neglect, abuse,

and crime. These positions have given Shirley a special sensitivity to the needs of women in distress.  She

believes that the Lord has orchestrated these encounters and experiences with women and families to equip

her with a ministry and a heart for women and families.

Carolyn Swanigan is currently the Accounting Manager at Oasis Baptist Church of Indianapolis, where she has

been employed for the past 24 years.  She manages all aspects of accounting, membership records and

human resources.

Carolyn has a heart to serve Gods people and has volunteered in several mentoring programs with elementary

school children, high school children and most recently been matched with a young adult through Young Life. 

Also was involved in developing a feed the homeless program with her family in which monthly we provided

food, clothing and supplies to several tent cities throughout Marion County.

Carolyn earned an AA in Business Management from Vincennes University where she was recognized by

United States Achievement Academy 1987 Collegiate Directory for her humanitarian services.   She also

earned her BA in Business Administration with an Accounting concentration from American National

University with high honors and awards.

 

William J. Pride is originally from Nashville, Tennessee and currently lives in Indianapolis, Indiana. After

studying mathematics and photography at Tennessee State University. William served in management and

purchasing at General Motors Facilities in Anderson, Indiana retiring in 1997.

Upon retirement, William pursued his passion in photography starting a photography business called Pride

Photography. William is a Christian and a proud member of Oasis of Hope Baptist Church. William has two

children, four grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. He enjoys traveling and spending time with family and

friends around the country.

 

Hattie served in Liberia from 1995-2016. She ministered alongside Rev. Frank Alexander in Ivory Coast,

Monrovia, Liberia and #3B in the village of Feetuah for Missions for Rural Africa, Inc as the Assistant to the

National Director, Paul Gbadyu. In addition, she spent 3 of those years working at the Liberia Baptist

Theological Seminary as a Missions Consultant visiting 15 of the 16 counties in Liberia.

Trained in Adult Literacy in Abokibi, Accra, Ghana, she established Silvanus International Ministries (2005)

partnering with ALFALIT Liberia, training hundreds to teach adult literacy by incorporating bible lessons into

the curriculum. Silvanus Connect was established in 2007, as an initiative that established an afterschool

program and computer literacy class teaching students of all ages, including college grads Microsoft Office.

She has a B.S.E. in Computer Software Applications with a minor in Religious Studies, from

Martin University (2020). She is a candidate at Eastern University for an MSE. in Data Science(2024)
